Site and Building Description |
Lynn Valley Care Centre provides a Campus of Care for the Seniors of the North Shore. Within the Campus there are 14 subsidized Assisted Living units and 139 Complex Care beds. There will also be 34 private pay beds in the Manor. The building was completed in February 2009, and has geothermal heat, large windows and views of the mountains. |
Amenity Space |
Amenities include dining and lounge areas with an outside deck, laundry room as well as spa bathing room. There is also a kitchen and private dining room for tenants’ use. Tenants have access to amenities within the Lodge which include the library, activity areas and hair salon. |

Lynn Valley House has 14 subsidized assisted living units. All units are one bedroom (approximately 430 square feet). |
Furnishings |
All suites are equipped with a fridge and microwave. Tenants provide their own furnishings for their suite. Drapes are provided. Comfortable furnishings are provided in the dining room and lounge and in other amenity spaces. |
Cost |
Individual tenants pay 70% of their after tax income, which covers, the monthly rent, hospitality services (weekly cleaning, two meals per day and flat linens) and personal care services. Residents also pay a $15 monthly hydro surcharge. Items not included in the 70% after tax income are: telephone, cable, internet, household and toiletry supplies, food for your suite and insurance. Food Service |
Lunch and dinner are provided on a daily basis to tenants, and are included in the base rent. Tenants provide their own breakfast. There are two snacks per day. The menu is reviewed by a registered dietitian. If special diets are required they need to be discussed with the dietitian prior to admission. There will be a minimal charge for guest meals. |
Housekeeping & Laundry |
Included in the monthly rent is weekly laundering of linens and towels, as well as weekly housekeeping of tenant’s suites. Washers and dryers are provided for tenants to do their personal laundry. |
Social/Recreational Opportunities |
There are a wide variety of recreational opportunities in our assisted living program as well as in the immediate neighbourhood. Tenants are able to participate as they choose, offer program suggestions or, initiate activities themselves. |
Emergency Response (24) Capacity |
Lynn Valley has an on site emergency response system. |
Mobility |
Tenants must be able to move around their suite on their own and make their way to the dining room, with or without mobility aides. |
Pet Policy |
There are “house” pets in the building. Individual tenant pets are not allowed. Visiting pets are allowed. |
Smoking Policy |
This is a non-smoking building. Tenants must be able to make their way independently and safely to the designated outdoor smoking area. |
Safety / Security Features |
There are smoke detectors in all rooms as well as strobe lights for the hearing impaired. The main door is secured at all hours. Visitors must ring staff through the intercom to gain access to the building. |
Visiting |
Visiting Hours are flexible. Visitors will be required to ring staff in order to be admitted to the building. After 10 P.M. visitors need to ring the night attendant for admission to the building. |

Exit Criteria |
Lynn Valley Assisted Living is unable to house tenants who cannot direct their own care or who require 24 hour professional care. In this event, tenants will be supported to find appropriate alternate arrangements. |
Tour Information |
Tours will be available to those that have been pre-authorized by the VCH case manger and the Lynn Valley Assisted Living Manager. Tours are scheduled by Vancouver Coastal Health. Prospective tenants must attend the tour. |
